Create a new quote

  • If you are a user with the Root or Admin role, you can complete the operation.
  • Ordinary users need to have the following permissions on their profile to complete this operation.
    • Allow user to handle Quotes.
    • Allow user to handle Pricebooks
    • Allow user to handle Leads (If the quote is being created for a lead)
    • Allow user to handle Contacts (If the quote is being created for a contact)

Read the next instructions depending on your scenario.

  • If you want to generate a quote for a lead, open the app menu and select the item Leads. Next, search and select the lead for whom you want to create the quote. Open the form menu and click Add new quote.

  • If you want to generate a quote for a contact, open the app menu and select the item Contacts. Then search and select the contact for whom you want to create the quote. Open the form menu and click Add new Quote.

In both cases, search and select the pricebook you want to use

A form will appear. Assign a name and Select an expiration date (This date only indicates the validity period for a quote).

A list of all your products from the selected pricebook will be available. Search and add the products you want to display in the quote. Use the [ + ] sign button to add each of them.

Next select how you want to calculate taxes. This configuration will be firstly set from what is specified in the chosen pricebook.

Assign quantities for each element using the less [ - ] and plus [ + ] buttons, or type the quantity in the Quantity column. You can delete any item by clicking the trash can button on each line.

Decide if you apply any discount.

Once you have added products and set your configuration, click the button Create Quote to create the new quote. If you have some duplicated products, they will merge in one single row.

If you would like to have a print view of the quote, click the Print view button. Note that there is additional information in this view, such as organization details, information about the user who created it, and the provisions from the pricebook used.

Once the quote is established, it can be converted to an order or invoice.
